CM Punk recently Spoke to FOX Sports about his decision to enter MMA and other pro wrestlers wanted to follow in his footsteps, as well as his upcoming UFC debut.
“I definitely think part of that is what influenced this,” Punk said when asked if he feels his decision to enter the MMA world influenced other pro wrestlers. “There’s a lot of guys in pro wrestling that just kind of have this MMA fantasy and they never act on it. I’m acting on it.I don’t want to be one of those guys who sits there and goes, ‘I could have done that or I should have done that.’ I can, so I’m doing it.”
Punk also talked about how he feel MMA fans might react to his upcoming Octagon debut.
“I will be as prepared as I can be, 100 percent,” said Punk. “Hypothetically, say I go in there and I get starched in 20 seconds, I’m sure somebody’s going to be on Twitter, ‘Oh you made a mockery of the sport!’ But you know what? F*ck you, pal. I’m the one that’s in there. A big part of me doesn’t understand why people are so worried about it.”
