Dalit Activist Anand Teltumbde Accused In Koregaon Bhima Released After Being Arrested This Morning

Dalit Scholar Anand Teltumbde, an accused in Koregaon Bhima case, was today arrested at Mumbai Airport. The arrest comes a day after his request for protection was rejected by a Pune court. He was released in the evening from the police custody after a sessions court found his arrest illegal.

Teltumbde, a professor at Goa Institute of Management, is a renowned Dalit scholar and activist and has been taken in to custody for his alleged role as an ‘urban naxal’. The leading civil rights activist is also an Indian Institute of Management-alumnus.
