UFC Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas Weigh-In Results and Live Video – Masvidal misses weight
Welcome to wrestlingobserver.com’s live coverage of UFC’s Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas weigh-ins. Airing on FOX Sports 1, as a reminder, the Main-Card has an unusual start time of 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT as that evening will be dominated by the NCAA Men’s Tournament Final Four. The prelims, also on FS1, start at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT. Hey, there are worse ways to start the day!
We have a preview of the main-event between Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas by Mike Coughlin on the site, while Al Iaquinta and Jorge Masvidal occupy the semi-main-event in what is actually a decently important lightweight fight. Dustin Poirier makes his return to lightweight, while Clay Guida, Gray Maynard, and Liz Carmouche bouts fill out the rest of what should be an entertaining card.

As far as the weigh-ins went, there was little drama. Jorge Masvidal came out on stage still in his sweat suit so it was clear that he was going to be near the limit. He initially weighed in at 157 lbs, took off his underwear, and was 156.5. He will have two hours to lose half a pound. And to find lighter underwear.
Every other fighter made weight without issue and the only drama was the athletic commission official who, while accurate, was slower in confirming the weights than any other official in recent memory. It was comical enough that the UFC announce crew was openly laughing at the delay.
