These Are Queens' 10 Dirtiest Neighborhoods: Data

QUEENS, NY — Queens is down in the dumps.

The city’s largest borough failed to crack the top 10 ZIP Codes with the most 311 complaints about dirty conditions, according to a recent HouseFresh study.

And New York City came out smelling like a rose compared to Los Angeles, the study found.

“Despite American novelist John Steinback insisting that New York is ‘a dirty city,’ the Big Apple — with its reputation for being riddled with rats, trash and traffic — isn’t as ‘dirty’ as you may have been led to believe,” the study states.

But frustrated New Yorkers and Queens residents shouldn’t cry “Rubbish!” yet.

Patch crunched the 311 numbers and found some Queens ZIP Codes still have thousands of complaints handled by the Department of Sanitation.

And one Queens neighborhood, at least according to the data, was the far dirtiest: Ridgewood, which is covered by the 11385 ZIP Code.
