Oak Lawn Man Accused Of Shooting Gun At Traffic, Striking Vehicle
OAK LAWN, IL — An Oak Lawn man is accused of shooting at a vehicle Wednesday evening, which brought a swarm of police to 102nd Street and Central Avenue. Jeffrey Fox, 41, has been charged with unlawful possession of ammunition without a FOID card and felony possession of a controlled substance.
Around 10:37 p.m. Wednesday, several 911 callers reported shots being fired by a “big, white male” in the 10200 block of Central Avenue. Officers saturated the area and located a man, later identified as Fox, near the scene, police said.
Fox was found to be in possession of ammunition as well as under the influence of narcotics, according to police.

Officers located a vehicle with a bullet hole a short distance away. The driver told the vehicle that they were driving southbound on Central Avenue when they heard a gunshot and then something hitting their vehicle. A ground and drone search failed to locate a gun.
During the early morning hours of Feb. 1, Oak Lawn detectives executed a search warrant of Fox’s residence, where they found cocaine and a bullet, police said.

Fox appeared Friday for a detention hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse. He was released from custody and is due back in court March 6.
