WWE’s reason of moving NXT TakeOver from Saturday to Friday was stated as something the company did for the interest of their fans. While many speculated that it was because the company didn’t want to go head-to-head with The NJPW/ROH MSG Show, another reason is that they feel as if having The WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony sandwiched between TakeOver and WrestleMania will help the attendance for the ceremony. When TakeOver was on Saturday, a lot of fans skipped The Friday festivities and just showed up in the host city on Saturday.

 

On a related note, one more bit of speculation that has emerged regarding WWE switching The Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony and NXT TakeOver dates is a potential induction for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. If this is true, the suggestion seems to be that WWE was forced to switch the date because of scheduling issues with The Rock, who might only be available on Saturday.
