Driver Ejected In Crash With Semi, Car On I-80 West: ISP

MANHATTAN, IL — The driver of a semi truck was ejected in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on I-80 West near Briggs Street, Illinois State Police said.

State police were called just after 1 p.m. to the crash involving a semi truck and a passenger car just west of Briggs Street. Early investigation shows the driver of the semi changed lanes and struck the passenger car, before hitting the concrete median.

The driver of the semi was ejected and taken to an area hospital with injuries; their condition is not known. No injuries have been reported for the driver of the car.

All westbound lanes were closed and traffic was being diverted off at Lincoln Highway/Route 30 in New Lenox. Lanes reopened at 7 p.m.

Illinois State Police are investigating.
