Basketball World Cup: Australia Pull Out Of Qualifier In Iran Due To Safety Concerns

The Australian men’s basketball team has withdrawn from its FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers encounter vs Iran in Tehran as it fears for the safety of the players, as per rappler,com.

“Basketball Australia has conducted a thorough risk assessment in conjunction with relevant authorities and as a result, we will not be sending any teams into Iran at this time,” said Basketball Australia’s statement.
