With the combination of expanding its reach and the possibility of losing Yankees analysts in the future, the YES Network is in talks with a very intriguing name: Buck Showalter.

Showalter, the Yankees manager prior to the Joe Torre dynasty, could potentially do some games this season as YES expands its roster of talent with an eye toward possibly starting YES Radio and more Yankee-centric digital platforms.

The Post previously reported the idea of YES expanding upon its completion of its sale to Amazon and Sinclair.

Besides the fact YES may try to grow, the network is also protecting itself as Ken Singleton retired and unretired last year, while Al Leiter decided not to return and joined the Mets’ front office.

If Showalter were to do games, he would join Reggie Jackson, Willie Randolph, David Wells and Jeff Nelson as former Yankees who have worked either exhibition or regular season games this year.

Jackson has taken himself out of future consideration because he didn’t want his presence to be a “distraction,” according to John Filippelli, YES’ president of programming and production.

Filippelli confirmed YES’ interest in Showalter, who previously worked for ESPN. Showalter could fit into larger plans with radio and more podcasts possibly in YES’ future.

“You always want to expand,” Filippelli said. “At the end of the day, all of the stars have to align.”
