WWE Issues Statement on the Status of Women Performing at ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ Event
Despite WWE stacking the deck for its upcoming “Greatest Royal Rumble” event on April 27th , journalist David Bixenspan has noted via Twitter that the women of WWE will not be performing at the event.
Bixenspan posted the following including a statement he obtained from WWE:
“Women and children are allowed to attend.
Female WWE Superstars will not be performing at this year’s event.”
While WWE does not explicitly state why women will not be performing at the event, it is likely due to strict laws and customs in Saudi Arabia which pertain to women.

When WWE ran its last live event in Abu Dhabi, the company made history when Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss became the first WWE women ever to wrestle in the country, however, the women wore ring gear which covered up most of their bodies due to the customs and laws of the country.
As we noted earlier today, WWE has made yet another major announcement regarding the Greatest Royal Rumble, as the event will feature an Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Bálor vs. The Miz vs. Samoa Joe, and a Raw Tag Team Championship Match: The Hardy Boyz vs. Sheamus & Cesaro. The event will also feature John Cena vs Triple H in a singles match, as well as six other Title matches.
