Top Independent talent Candice LeRae, who is the wife of NXT star Johnny Gargano, participated in WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic back in 2017 and was amongst the more popular talents in the tournament.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is interested in LeRae, and she is currently undergoing the signing process, meaning she will likely disappear from the indie scene if the deal does in fact go through.

LeRae did well in the Mae Young Classic, defeating Renee Michelle and Nicole Savoy in the round of 32 and round of 16, respectively, before losing to Shayna Baszler in the tournament’s quarterfinals. Baszler went on to compete in the finals, losing to Kairi Sane.
