Wrestling Events Part of MSUM’s Homecoming Week

MOORHEAD, Minn. – There are several events involving the Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling program are set for MSUM’s Homecoming week, including the Dragons’ All-Wrestling Reunion.

The first of the events is the Dragon Sports Hall of Fame banquet at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept.26 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Moorhead, Minn. Longtime MSUM wrestling coach John Sterner will be inducted into the Hall of Fame that evening. Sterner posted a career record of 137-92-1 during his coaching tenure at MSUM, which lasted from 1988-2003. He led the Dragons to six NSIC titles and also produced 25 All-Americans during his time. On Saturday, Sept. 26, the Dragon All-Wrestling Reunion kicks into full swing. There will be tailgating for former Dragon wrestlers beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The homecoming parade is set for Sept. 27 followed by the Dragon football game against Sioux Falls at 2 p.m. At 6 p.m. that evening, a social will be held at Mick’s Office in Moorhead. Former Dragon heavyweight Jake Bruns invites former Dragon wrestlers for burger baskets and drink specials that event. Cost for the All-Wrestling Reunion activities is $40 a person or $60 per couple and includes tailgating, a football game ticket, a burger basket at Mick’s and a T-shirt.
