WATCH: Matt Hardy Snaps After Loss on Monday Night Raw
Since the day Matt Hardy returned to the WWE ring at WrestleMania 33, fans have been speculating about the status of his dormant “Broken” character.
Due to an ongoing battle with Impact Wrestling management – although how much of that team even remains at this point is unknown – we have yet to see the bizarre Hardy incarnation on WWE television. There have been some sparks of “Broken” brilliance over the last few months, as Hardy continues to tease the persona on social media, and occasionally leads crowds in his famous “DELETE” chant during entrances.

We might have some good news… This week on Monday Night Raw, Matt gave up a victory to the “Eater of Worlds” Bray Wyatt, and after the bout was left alone in the ring throwing some sort of fit. The tag team legend began laughing creepily, much like he used to do as “Broken Matt”, before leading the crowd in the longest “DELETE” chant we’ve heard yet.
Before the segmented ended, WWE commentator Michael Cole posed the idea that we could be looking at a total “break down” of Matt Hardy. While this is likely unrelated, Matt and Reby’s young son “King Maxel”, who was a big part of the Broken Universe during its run on Impact Wrestling, made a brief appearance at this weekend’s Starrcade live event, coming out with his dad.
