Wabasso’s Hindt steps down after 49 years
Gary Hindt has stepped down from his Co-Head Wrestling Coach position at Wabasso/Red Rock Central. Hindt ends his 49-year coaching career with a record of 807-214-6, which puts him second on the career coaching wins list for Minnesota.
Hindt, who was inducted into the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association Bartelma Hall of Fame in 1994, was the only wrestling coach Wabasso has ever had. His teams qualified for the State Tournament in 2004 (2nd Place), 2006 (4th Place), 2011 (5th Place), and 2016 (6th Place). Hindt coached six individual state champions for Wabasso.
He was selected as an MWCA State Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2006.
