UCL: Erling Haaland And Manchester City – A Match Made In Heaven
Recently, Erling Haaland was Manchester City’s shining star in the UCL as he netted five goals vs RB Leipzig. In fact, the man set a new record in the UCL.
The man scored more goals than Messi in the 2nd leg vs this team in this UCL. Messi had netted 4. But the record he achieved was something more.
Haaland reached the 30-goal mark in 25 games – the quickest in UCL history. Also, he is the youngest at 22 years and 236 days.
Both records belonged to Ruud van Nistelroy and Lionel Messi respectively.
Haaland is also the 3rd player to score five goals in a single UCL game after Luiz Adriano in October 2014 (Shakhtar Donetsk vs BATE Borisov) and Lionel Messi in March 2012 (Barcelona v Bayer Leverkusen).
The youngster has scored 39 goals for Manchester City across competitions in the 2022-23 season.
The man now has more UCL hat-tricks (2) than Thierry Henry, Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney – a big deal indeed.
Haaland and Manchester have formed a match made in heaven. Since joining City in 2022, the man is on a goal-scoring spree and with time on his side, expect him to only get better.
