Twitter crashed Thursday afternoon and the company said it was “investigating issues” related to its platform going down.

“We are currently investigating issues people are having accessing Twitter,” the company said on its official page. “We will keep you updated on what’s happening.”

Outage tracking website Downdetector.com showed that there are nearly 50,000 incidents of people across the globe reporting issues with Twitter, Reuters reported.

It returned to action about 3:44 p.m.

“We were down. . .and now slowly coming back up. Sorry!” Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey later tweeted. “Grateful for our operations and engineering teams for getting us flying again.”
