The Miz Sounds Off Making the WWE Title ‘Relevant’, Top Team Missing NXT Takeover?, Maverick Praises NXT Star

WWE Smackdown Live star The Miz, who will be competing in this year’s Money in the Bank ladder match, had the following to say on making the WWE Championship ‘relevant and prestigious’ during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard.

“My goal is to make the WWE championship as relevant and prestigious as it should be. Do I think AJ Styles is doing a terrific job as WWE champion? Absolutely.

But that WWE championship should be in the main event of every single WWE pay per view. It upsets me when I see that it is not.

My goal is to not only win the Money in the Bank contract, cash it in and become WWE champion. I want to put that title back where it belongs: the main event.”

Top Team Missing NXT Takeover?

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s possible The Undisputed Era might be missing next month’s NXT Takeover Chicago event due to WWE booking them elsewhere.

Meltzer noted the entire faction is scheduled to work the June 18th and 19th WWE UK events, and while Takeover takes place on June 16th, it’s still possible the group might be kept off the event. As noted, three big matches were been announced for Takeover at last night’s NXT TV tapings, and you can read those spoilers at this link.
