Supreme Court to review Trump\u2019s bid to end DACA program
The Supreme Court will decide whether the Trump administration had the power to end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA.
The justices issued an order Friday saying they will hear arguments in the case in the fall and issue a decision likely by June 2020 as President Trump seeks re-election.
Trump ended DACA in 2017, five years after it was created by President Obama — prompting mass protests and a failed congressional effort to save it.

Three federal district courts and two appeals courts have blocked Trump from outright nixing the program and only one district court has ruled in his favor, USA Today reported.
Up until now, the Supreme Court had been silent on the issue. Friday’s ruling leaves in place the rulings that prohibit efforts to dismantle the program.
DACA protects about 700,000 immigrants called “Dreamers” who were brought to the US illegally as children or came with families that overstayed visas.
