South Jersey Man Charged With Murder Is At Large: Prosecutor

VINELAND, NJ — A man wanted for murder in South Jersey remains at large, authorities said. Angel A. Aguero is considered “armed and dangerous,” according to the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office (CCPO).

The U.S. Marshals Service and other law enforcement continue to search for Aguero. He is wanted for last weekend’s fatal shooting of Dashon Lee in Vineland, authorities said.

The public should not approach Aguero, the CCPO said. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the U.S. Marshals Service online or by calling the agency’s tip line at 1-877-WANTED-2.

At about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Vineland police responded to a reported shooting at the Asselta Acres Apartments on Axtell Avenue, officials said. Arriving officers found Lee suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the CCPO.

Lee, 35, of Vineland, was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Aguero, 31, of West Chestnut Avenue in Vineland, was charged with murder (first-degree), possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose (second-degree) and unlawful possession of a handgun (second-degree).

The investigation into Lee’s death is ongoing. Anyone with information on the case can contact the CCPO at CCPO.TIPS or the Vineland Police Department at VPD.TIPS.
