Scamster Nirav Modi Arrested In London, Bail Denied; In Custody Till 29 March

Nirav Modi, one of India’s most wanted economic offenders was arrested by the Scotland Yard.

Modi was arrested by the authorities in London on Wednesday from a metro station Holborn, central London on the extradition request by India, where he is the main accused in the Rs 13,000 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam.

A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Modi and his wife by a Westminster court last week.

Modi, who fled India in February 2018, had been living in hiding ever since, though there were indications that he was in London, based on which the Indian authorities raised an extradition request with the UK.
