Rumored Evolution Match, Future SmackDown Match, New MLW Signees

WWE’s Evolution pay-per-view will already be a historic one given that it is the first all-women’s pay-per-view that the company has ever done, but women on the current roster, Hall of Famers, and more are all rumored to partake in the upcoming show. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has already been confirmed to return for a match against Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Bella is rumored to be facing Ronda Rousey at the show. As for Brie Bella, PWInsider says that the plan is for her to challenge Maryse to a match at Evolution. Bella will be teaming up with Daniel Bryan to face Maryse and The Miz at Hell in a Cell in September, but it appears now that a singles match between these two is being saved until October.
As reported yesterday, SmackDown General Manager Paige announced that there will be a brief tag team tournament starting on this week’s edition of SmackDown that will see the winners face The New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in the future. It will be The Bar vs. The Colons vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson this Tuesday night, and PWInsider says that next week’s tournament match will be SAnitY vs. The Usos vs. Rusev & Aiden English. The winners of the Triple Threat tag team matches this week and next week will earn the title match against The New Day at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view this September. The tournament that will decide the next tag team title challengers starts this Tuesday.
The Major League Wrestling promotion is gaining a bigger audience and much more attention seemingly with each passing week. The promotion could be on its way to becoming a dominant force in the wrestling industry, which is why MLW is now making the effort to sign their talent to longterm contracts. The likes of Shane Strickland and Brian Pillman Jr have already been confirmed to sign with MLW, and it has just recently been reported that several more wrestlers are staying in MLW for the next few years. PWInsider says that Jason Cade, Aria Blake, Jimmy Yuta, Rhett Giddins, Leo Brien, and Michael Patrick have all signed contracts that will see them primarily wrestle for MLW, thus making them unable to work for other major promotions.
