Wendy Barlow, Ric Flair’s wife, has issued a statement offering some clarity on Flair’s health.

“Due to ongoing health complications, Ric was taken to the hospital and is expected to undergo a procedure tomorrow morning, after which he expects to fully recover,” Barlow said.

TMZ reported this morning that Flair was rushed to the hospital, noting that the specifics were unclear but they were told the situation was “very serious.” Conrad Thompson, who is a friend of Flair’s and is married to Flair’s daughter Megan, said on a media call for Starrcast that the situation wasn’t as serious as TMZ said and Flair was having a planned procedure done.

Dave Meltzer confirmed that the procedure was planned, but couldn’t answer definitively how serious the situation was.

Flair is scheduled to appear at Starrcast in Las Vegas later this month, with The Roast of Ric Flair airing live on pay-per-view on May 24.
