Renee Young’s Commentary Future, Miz & Mrs Renewed for 2nd Season
Renee Young is one of the most beloved and cherished non-wrestling personalities in WWE right now, and she has been for years due to her personality and due to the fantastic work that she does as a backstage interviewer and Kickoff show panel host. Renee’s hard work landed her some huge opportunities recently as she was selected to be a commentator for the Mae Young Classic tournament this year, and she also filled in for Jonathan Coachman on the commentary team on Raw earlier this week, thus becoming the first woman to call an entire episode of the show. Fans have been left to wonder how WWE officials have responded to her announcing duties and if Renee will be brought back to do more commentary in the near future.
Fortunately for fans of Renee’s work this past Monday night, Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that those who work backstage in WWE were impressed with her. However, there are currently no plans to bring her back to the announcer’s table at this time. It was noted that Young is definitely interested in returning for more announcing at some point in the future, but the company does not have any shows open for her to call right now. If there comes a time when WWE’s regular announcers cannot appear or if a limited series like the Mae Young Classic comes along, WWE will likely consider adding Young to the team. For right now though, Young will likely continue her work in WWE as an interviewer and panel host.
After much hype and anticipation, the Miz & Mrs reality series starring WWE couple The Miz and Maryse premiered on the USA Network earlier this summer. Only a few episodes of the show have aired on the network so far, but fans have been entertained by the series. In fact, it was announced on Smackdown and later confirmed by USA Network that Miz & Mrs has already been picked up for a second season. The new season of the show will continue to document the daily lives of the married couple over the course of 14 episodes, far more than the 6 episodes included in the first season. Season two begins in 2019, but the current season can still be watch every Tuesday night on the USA Network at 10pm ET.
