Pride Media sued by LGBTQ publisher over back payments
Pink News, an LGBTQ digital publisher in London, is suing Pride Media, owner of Out and The Advocate, claiming the American publisher owes it close to $200,000 in back payments for advertising that ran adjacent to its copy on the Pride Media publications.
According to court filings, Pride Media was running content from Pink News on its Web sites and had a deal to split the revenue on a 50-50 basis.
But after getting the runaround from Pride Media CEO Adam Levin, the founder and chairman of Pink News finally filed a suit late last week in Manhattan federal court.
“Adam Levin flew to London in early May and assured me he’d have the finances straightened out by the end of the next week,” said Pink News chairman Ben Cohen.
The lawsuit names as defendants Pride Media, its predecessor company Here Media, Oreva Capital, which financed the buyout, and Adam Levin, who is also head of Oreva.

“Pink News is suing Pride Media for a number of causes, including alleged breach of contract and fraud pertaining to a 1-year publishing deal signed on May 17, 2018,” said a Pink News spokesperson.
