Pleasanton Student Wins President's Volunteer Service Award
PLEASANTON, CA — An incoming junior at Amador Valley High School recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her volunteering more than 100 hours with Kids Against Hunger.
Kavya Vijayabaskar helped set up the warehouse, trained volunteers on how to pack bags of food, and helped clean up after the events. “We also placed Kavya in a more management position training the newer staff volunteers on what to do during events. She has been an amazing role model for our other student volunteers,” said Sherri Leal, director of Kids Against Hunger Pleasanton.
