Nut charged in chaotic break-in at Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s campaign offices
A D.C. man is facing a series of charges after barricading himself in a utility closet in a Queens building that’s home to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign, cops said Sunday.
Douala Hashi, 31, allegedly argued with security on the ground floor of the Jackson Heights building just before 5 p.m. Saturday and ran up to the third floor, where he refused to leave, according to police.
The vagrant, who was known to employees, was wandering around the floor when AOC’s office called security.
When one of the guards when to go check it out, Hashi allegedly grabbed the guard by the collar and barked “Don’t mess with me,” employees at the building told The Post.
The guard backed off when he thought he spotted a knife in Hashi’s hand and called police.

When cops arrived at 74-09 37th Ave., Hashi sprayed the officers with a fire extinguisher, creating a “cloud condition,” and ran into a utility closet holding a broken bottle, the NYPD said.
Hashi was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for psychiatric evaluation and charged Sunday with menacing, three counts of criminal mischief and two counts of trespassing.
The NYPD said the freshman representative’s offices were “never breached.”
Employees said Sunday Hashi broke a security camera on the floor and pulled the fire alarm.
AOC was in Washington when the event unfolded.
