Matt Riddle on NXT Next Week, JR Undergoing Surgery, Lashley News

WWE signed Matt Riddle to a contract earlier this year following plenty of hype from his time on the independent wrestling circuit. The former UFC fighter’s signing was confirmed during NXT Takeover: Brooklyn this past summer, and he has been training at the Performance Center and wrestling on NXT live events, but Riddle is now set to make his televised NXT debut. During last night’s edition of NXT, it was confirmed that Matt Riddle will be in action on NXT next week. Riddle’ opponent for the show has not been announced as of yet, but NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno has heavily teased facing Riddle in recent weeks. Expect to see “The King of Bros” in Full Sail University for the first time ever on NXT next week.

Following that announcements made earlier this week that Roman Reigns is dealing with leukemia while former WWE Superstar Samu is battling liver cancer, Jim Ross has just confirmed that he is fighting skin cancer at the moment. While speaking on his Ross Report podcast earlier this week, the WWE Hall of Famer stated that he will be undergoing surgery to have the cancer removed from his shoulder very soon. Ross says that he does not have much skin cancer left at this point, but the remaining amount will be removed. The announcer brought this up while discussing Roman Reigns’ announcement on his show. The legendary wrestling commentator will be having the surgery next Thursday.

It was reported a few days ago that Raw Superstar Bobby Lashley is working through an injury at the moment. Several days later, it appears that the issue has not gotten any better. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bobby Lashley is dealing with a separated shoulder right now, and although he continues to work at the moment, it is very possible that he could end up taking time off to recover from the injury as it is said to be causing him “a lot of pain.” Bobby Lashley recently turned heel on Raw and 205 Live Superstar Lio Rush has been working as his mouthpiece lately as well. Despite the injury not healing, it seems Lashley will still compete in the ring for the time being.
