Luciano De Cecco return to be Drean Bolívar setter

They say that all children return to the nest and Luciano De Cecco, that started playing volleyball for Bolívar, signed his contract with the Argentine champion, and this time as main player: the setter of the team.

It is one of the players loved most by volleyball fans that saw him growing since his arrival when in the year 2004 as junior players sat on the bench most of the time. Coached first by Mario Regulo Martinez, that discovered his talent put him at the Bolivar Talented program.

Luciano grew very quickly and soon started representing representing Instituto Formosa (today La Unión) at the A2 upgrading league. With the arrival of Javier Weber, firs he was called to replace the Brazilian William Peixoto Arjona, the best Argentine League player during the last four seasons. Chances were not many for such a talented athlete but he was already at the Argentine Junior and Boys Men Team. Coached by John Uriarte came his chance of setting at the Argentine Men Team and played all over the world getting some awards but also some bad results that gave him some sorrows.

Searching to keep growing, De Cecco left Bolivar after becoming undefeated Argentine League champion and travelled to play at the A1 Italian League with Gabeca Paradiso Montichiari – at that time coached by the Argentine Julio Velasco and as long as he was the chief of the team he could play some matches. Not knowing why, his good performance was not recognized and he returned to Argentina to play with Belgrano de Cordoba jersey.

Afterwards he was called by Andreoli Latina for the Italian A2 that wanted his service to upgrade to the A1 League and there he was not only one of the starting line-up players but also the star of the team.

He returned with a great attitude to the Argentine Men Team and after a hard shock in the year 2007, he became one of the starting line up players with Weber in the FIVB World League where Argentina became one of the best six teams of the World. Immediately he was requested by Dinamo Yantar de Malingrado (Russia), where he also shone.

Last Saturday, De Cecco confirmed his happiness of returning to “his”
home, Drean Bolivar. It will not be an easy task to to run a renewed team without William and facing very strong teams that want to win the championship that Bolivar won on the last three seasons naming some of the candidates: Buenos Aires Unidos (Mar del Plata), La Unión de Formosa, Chubut Volley and of course, last season’s finalist, UPCN.

Bolivar bet strong on that child that today is a man and that will nearly sure show all his power.
