Lockport Approves Concept Plan For 148-Unit Townhome Development

LOCKPORT, IL — At its meeting on Wednesday, the Lockport City Council approved a concept plan for a 148-unit town home development, north of 151st Street and west of Interstate 355.

The concept plan is from Lennar Home Builders, for a development called Oak Valley.

City Administrator Ben Benson said the previously approved development from 2022 did not move forward. That project called for single-family detached homes, but the new plan will be the town home development.

The newly approved site plan calls for 39 attached single-family town home buildings, with eight three-unit and 31 four-unit buildings, for the total of 148 units.

Council documents state there is open space provided at the north end of the development around stormwater basins, as well as bike paths and connections throughout the neighborhood. All units will also have two-car garages with separate driveways.
