LA Crews Battle Brush Fires In Elysian Park And Lake View Terrace
LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles firefighters faced a pair of brush fires that broke out Friday afternoon in Elysian Park and Lake View Terrace.

A brush fire burning in the 400 block of West Solano Avenue in Elysian Park quickly grew to about five acres, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was first reported at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, and less than an hour later, fire officials managed to get handlines around the entire perimeter of the blaze, according to LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
No structures were threatened in the blaze, and there were no immediate reports of injuries.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
At the same time crews were battling another brush fire in Lake View Terrace. That fire was reported at about 2:30 p.m. in the 11700 block of W Pierce St. on Angeles National Forest land, according to Stewart.

The blaze grew to three acres, but by 3:42 p.m., the fire department had stopped the forward progress of the blaze, she reported.
There were no injuries reported and no structures damaged in the Lake View Terrace Blaze.
