Kurt Angle has been a great source of entertainment since he returned to WWE earlier this year. He received an induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and later became the General Manager of Raw. Regardless, fans have been clamoring for Angle to return to the ring against some of WWE’s top talent. Luckily, Angle assured fans on Wrestlezone Radio that he will indeed be wrestling again some day. He says that he doesn’t know when he will step back into the ring, but he does expect WWE to give him another chance. As of right now, Angle claims that WWE has not asked him anything about wrestling again.
During the interview, Angle assumed that the reason he hasn’t been asked to wrestle yet is because of his past drug issues. He said: “I think what they are doing right now is, this is just my own opinion, they’re monitoring to see how I am doing. They want to see, ‘Is this kid really in recovery? Does he really have his life together? Is he coming here clean? Is he doing ok? Is his health ok?’ They see me working out at the gym. They see me every RAW doing what I have to do. They’re saying, ‘Prove to us that you are ok and we can give you what you want.’ I’m cool with that. I understand that.” With that information, it’s safe to assume that Kurt will likely only remain the Raw GM for the foreseeable future.
Angle does want to wrestle for WWE again, and has promised fans that he will wrestle again one day. He believes that his return is a matter of when and not if. It will be interesting to see who on the Raw roster will be the one to provoke Angle into wrestling again. Though the Olympian is 48 years old, he is still a master technician in the ring and can work well with just about anybody. For now though, we will have to wait a bit longer to see Angle don the stars and stripes again.
