Kawhi Leonard’s sister deletes video saying he’s leaving Raptors
The happiest moment in a Raptors fan’s sports life came with a dose of dread.
In the aftermath of Saturday’s 100-94 Game 6 win over the Bucks, Toronto reaching the NBA Finals for the first time, Kawhi Leonard’s sister and her company accidentally reminded Canada he will be a jewel of free agency this summer and has not dropped hints about returning to the Raptors.
Miesha Slayton, Leonard’s sister, went on Instagram Live to celebrate, but someone near her — identity unknown — was not chanting, “We the North.”
“They know darn well he ain’t going to be there next year,” came a background voice in a video Slayton quickly deleted.
Leonard, who forced his way out of San Antonio and has been heavily linked with both Los Angeles teams, scored 27 points and added 17 rebounds and seven assists in the clincher, while greatly limiting Giannis Antetokounmpo on defense. And now his sister has to play some herself.
“No more live videos for me,” she wrote. “I got haters all around me. Yall hear someone HATIN in the background and run with it smh. Go Raptors!”
