In a horrifying incident, a man has been booked for allegedly raping a two-year-old calf in a village in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, police said on Monday.
The accused allegedly committed the act in the backyard of a house in Malaigawa village on Saturday night. He fled the spot after the owner of the calf arrived at the spot, an official said.
Accused tied calf’s legs and raped it
The cattle farm owner found the man committing the unnatural act. According to the police complaint, the accused tied the calf’s legs and raped it.
The complainant, Ram Bahadur Kewat, told police that he had left the calf tied to a tree before going for some personal work at 7 pm, and when he returned at around 11 pm, he found accused Prabhunath Kevat raping the female calf. Kewat said he tried to get hold of the accused, but he managed to flee the scene.
A case was registered under section 377 (unnatural offences) of the Indian Penal Code and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vivek Lal said, adding the accused is yet to be arrested.
Similarly, a 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a two-month-old calf in January this year. The incident was reported from Chanpur village in Sehramau in Uttar Pradesh. Local residents beat up the accused after catching him in the act and handed him over to the police.
A veterinarian had then conducted the calf’s medical examination and the accused had been sent to jail, the police had said.
