A piece of the helicopter that crashed and burned atop a Manhattan skyscraper Monday afternoon fell over 700 feet and landed in front of a car parked in the street below, the vehicle’s shaken owner told The Post.

Nicolas Estevez, a car service driver, said his black Suburban SUV was parked in front of The Manhattan at Times Square Hotel on Seventh Avenue at 51st Street when the warped piece of metal debris collided with the pavement.

“They shouldn’t be flying over buildings like this,” Estevez said of the chopper. “If a big piece fell on the street a lot of people would have died.”

Estevez said he was standing under the awning of the hotel at the time of the incident.

His car was parked across from the AXA Equitable Center building at 787 Seventh Ave., when the Agusta A109E crashed onto the roof at around 2 p.m.

One person, believed to be the pilot, was killed. No one else is believed to have been on board.
