Good Samaritans pin down knife-wielding maniac in Sydney
A knife-wielding man suspected of stabbing a woman in Sydney, Australia was arrested after being pinned down by a group of good Samaritans on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Footage of the wild incident was captured by a 7NEWS reporter and shows the armed and bloody suspect hop atop a black Mercedes about 2 p.m. local time in the city’s main commercial district.
A man wielding a wooden chair could be seen in the footage confronting the crazed man.
The suspect eventually jumps from the car and screams, “Shoot me. I want to f–king die.”
A group of people manage to subdue the suspect with a milk crate and several chairs before police arrived.
“You just stabbed a chick, mate,” one visibly upset witness tells the suspect.
New South Wales police said in a statement that one woman was found stabbed inside a nearby hotel. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Numerous roads were closed in the busy corridor as police established several crime scenes.
