Funeral Services Set For West Babylon Firefighter And 'Proud Navy Vet'
WEST BABYLON, NY — The Babylon community is mourning the loss of a beloved firefighter and Navy veteran, the West Babylon Fire Department has confirmed with Patch.
James “JJ” P. Jennings, 72, of West Babylon died on July 29, 2024.

He was a “proud” veteran of the U.S. Navy and a life member of the West Babylon Fire Department, which he joined in August 1976, fire department officials said.

Officials said he “served with distinction in Rendezvous Truck Company 4” and also worked as a nurse with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Jennings leaves behind is wife, Kathleen, his children Colleen and Brian, and his grandchildren Abigail and Katherine Jennings.

Visitation services will take place on Thursday, August 1, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon. Firematic services will take place at 8 p.m.
Interment will take place on Friday, August 2, at 10 a.m. at Calverton National Cemetery.
