Theodore Levy, 81, lost his right thumb after it was caught in the door of his $96,000 vehicle, which includes a “soft close” feature with a history of problems, according to a lawsuit.

Levy was in a restaurant parking lot in April 2017 when the fancy feature automatically activated, trapping his hand.

The “soft close” door feature has also injured BMW drivers.

Levy watched in horror as the door “pulverized the bone structure” in his digit, and left his thumb “a shadow of what it used to be,” according to the New Jersey Federal Court lawsuit against the car company.

The company failed to include a sensor to detect when an object was in the way of the door, Levy gripes in the legal papers.

The flawed “soft close” feature turns the car into a “guillotine.”

Jaguar said it had not seen the lawsuit, and could not comment.
