A Brooklyn man who allegedly shipped parts of weapons to Russia was charged for the caper in an unsealed indictment in federal court on Tuesday, authorities said.

Vladimir Kuznetsov, 58, of Coney Island, allegedly bought pieces of firearms online in the US and shipped them to buyers in Russia from 2017 until he was busted Tuesday morning, federal prosecutors in Brooklyn allege in the indictment.

The parts Kuznetsov allegedly shipped included pieces that could be used to assemble a sniper rifle, prosecutors said.

He allegedly incorrectly marked the packages to avoid suspicion and packed the illicit materials in with normal items like sneakers and medical equipment.

“Today’s arrest demonstrates our resolve to investigate and prosecute those who illegally export restricted items without regard for their end use, placing their own enrichment above our country’s interests,” United States Attorney Richard Donoghue said in a statement announcing the charges.

Attorney information for Kuznetsov was not immediately available.
