Doubter Wrong On Burr Ridge Restaurant's Fate

BURR RIDGE, IL – Often, when a new restaurant or another type of business opens, some predict its imminent demise.

If they are wrong, they usually never follow up to admit their mistake.

On Aug. 29, Pella Signature restaurant opened at 720 Village Center Drive in Burr Ridge Village Center.

When Patch wrote a story in advance of the opening, a reader commented in response that Pella would last no longer than six months.

Patch promised the anonymous commenter that it would check in after six months to see whether the restaurant was still open. It is. The six-month milestone is Thursday.

Patch followed the same procedure last year when a commenter said a new Elmhurst restaurant, Krafted Burger Bar + Tap, would be gone no later than six months. The reader later deleted the comment.

Krafted has now been around for a year and a month, proving the reader wrong.

Before opening, Pella was advertised to be Burr Ridge’s largest restaurant. On its website, Pella describes itself as a place “where culinary artistry meets Mediterranean mastery.”
