Double Turn Coming Soon? New Cruiserweight? Segments for Raw
It looks as though WWE might be planning to pull the trigger on a double turn for two members of the Smackdown roster. The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that WWE has been considering turning Rusev babyface, as well as turning “The Perfect 10” Tye Dillinger heel. Rusev has been working as a heel since the start of his WWE career, but fans have been getting behind him as a babyface recently. WWE tested the double turn at a recent live event in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the crowd was said to be behind Rusev for most of the match. The crowd reportedly erupted as soon as Dillinger tapped out to Rusev’s Accolade submission.
A few of the segments that are in the works for this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw have been revealed. WWE announced this weekend that this Monday’s show will open with The Miz and The Mizourage hosting a new MizTV segment with special guest Kurt Angle. It also looks like the company plans on continuing the feud between “The Drifter” Elias and Jason Jordan. Another segment announced for the show is a match involving the two wrestlers squaring off again, except this is no ordinary singles match, but rather a “Guitar on a Pole” match. These segments and more will be taking place in the United Kingdom this Monday night on Raw.
Shortly after it was announced that Enzo Amore would be defending the Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto at Survivor Series, it was reported that the company was originally going to have the cruiserweights face off in a 5-on-5 elimination match at the event. WrestlingInc.com revealed that one of the participants for the match would have been Smackdown’s Sin Cara. Earlier this week, it was reported that Sin Cara had signed a multi-year deal to stay with WWE, so it is possible that he could still join the cruiserweight division at some point. For now though, he has been wrestling on Smackdown, even picking up a few wins over United States Champion Baron Corbin.
