Children’s ‘Panchayat’ Pitches For Village Migration Register To Check Trafficking

Amid rising incidents of crime against children across the country, a Bal Panchayat (Children’s Parliament) has sought government’s intervention for implementation of a charter of demand, which includes creation of village migration register to check trafficking of children from rural regions of India.

Hundreds of children associated with Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) in an event attended by many dignitaries, including child activists and former bureaucrats presented their views on the continued exploitation of children in the country, and inability of district and Panchayat authorities in curbing trafficking of children from the villages.
