Foot Mercato are reporting that Chelsea are confident of completing the signing of AS Monaco centre-back Benoît Badiashile (21). 

The two clubs have been locked in negotiations over the player’s signing. Sources contacted by Get French Football News revealed that there is already an agreement in principle between the player and the Premier League club. Whilst a total agreement over the transfer has not yet been reached, Foot Mercato report that Chelsea are confident of completing the deal, and there are only some final details to be finalised. 

The French publication adds that the fee will be around €40m for the player, who recently became a French international and has 18 months remaining on his contract with the Principality side. Badiashile is reportedly seduced by the project and will sign a long-term deal with the London club. Chelsea look to have beaten Manchester United and Barcelona to his signature. Both were linked to the player by L’Équipe.
