Bobby Lashley WWE title celebration announced for Raw

One week after becoming WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley will celebrate his title win.

WWE has announced that “Bobby Lashley’s Almighty WWE Championship Celebration” will take place on Monday’s episode of Raw. Lashley defeated The Miz in a lumberjack match in the main event of this week’s Raw to win the WWE Championship.

Leading into Lashley winning the WWE Championship, there was a show-long storyline where The Miz tried to get out of facing him. The match was pushed back an hour due to Miz claiming to be sick. When it did originally take place, Miz immediately ran out and lost by countout. Shane McMahon then said Miz would be stripped of the title and it would be given to Lashley if Miz didn’t legitimately defend it in the main event.

Prior to losing the title to Lashley, The Miz became WWE Champion when he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre at last month’s Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. McIntyre had retained the WWE Championship by defeating AJ Styles, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston, and Randy Orton in an Elimination Chamber match. Lashley then attacked McIntyre after the match, with it later being said that Lashley made a deal with Miz where he would get the first shot at Miz’s WWE Championship if he helped him cash in on McIntyre.

Lashley’s Hurt Business stablemates MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander will join him for his WWE Championship celebration.

Benjamin & Alexander retained their Raw Tag Team titles against Braun Strowman & WWE authority figure Adam Pearce on Raw this week. Strowman & Pearce lost after Shane McMahon urged Strowman to tag Pearce in.

For Monday’s Raw, WWE has announced that Strowman is demanding an apology from Shane:

Braun Strowman is one angry monster, and he wants answers.

The Monster Among Men feels like Shane McMahon has been out to get him in recent weeks. From excluding him from the Elimination Chamber Match, to not automatically giving him a WWE Championship opportunity, Strowman has some gripes. Matters were made worse last week when Shane may have inadvertently cost Strowman and Adam Pearce the Raw Tag Team Titles in their match against The Hurt Business, so now an apology just may be in order.
