After A Spate Of Rapes & Mass Drownings, Goa Government May Ban Swimming At Night

In a bid to crackdown on errant tourists, Goa’s Tourism Department said that it might ban swimming in the sea from dusk to dawn, limit tourism activity to a limited area on a beach and even put together punitive measures for tourists violating law.

The recent spate of incidents involving tourists, including gangrapes and mass drownings have forced to government to take immediate measures to curb such occurrences.

The decision was taken in a meeting with Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and industry stakeholders are thinking of ways and means to limit violations along the state’s coastal belt, which is popular with tourists.Click Here: Crystal Palace Shop
