GAA retirements, Munster return to Paris and a Minister’s plans for MMA – It’s Comments of The Week

MUNSTER WILL MAKE the journey back to Paris this weekend to fulfill the Champions Cup fixture against Racing 92 that was postponed last year following Anthony Foley’s sudden death. Elsewhere, there was a huge reaction to the revelation that Irish sailor Saskia Tidey is transferring to Team Great Britain.

Minister for Sport Shane Ross sparked a debate following statements he made about how he plans to regulate MMA in Ireland. The GAA lost some big names this week, while others are becoming an emerging force in their respective counties.

Former Roscommon footballer Karol Mannion retired from football this week. Gerard Tiernan had this to say about the player who won an All-Ireland club title with St Brigid’s.

Johnny Sexton made his return to the Leinster team this week. Dave Murray is hopeful that Sexton has banished all of his injury woes.

Good to have Johnny back, hopefully the injury problems are gone now after that prolonged period of rest and rehab. Great bench there too and hopefully no injuries with Montpellier coming up tomorrow week.

Munster are returning to Paris this weekend for the rescheduled Champions Cup fixture which had to be cancelled following the sudden death of Munster coach Anthony Foley. Collitov had this to say about the upcoming game against Racing 92.

Racing are a professional outfit who are going to pay Munster full respect by fronting up. It is a difficult assignment but Munster have shown they can cope well with though challenges this season. It has the potential to be a cracker. Best of luck lads & Mumhan Abu
