RAW Report 2/22/10 Indianapolis, Indiana
Just to let everyone know, I’m in the hospital (chronic health issues, something I’ve dealt with most of my life – I’m fine). But I’m working without my DVR and with nurses coming in and out. So please bear with me if I miss anything on this RAW.)
This weeks post Elimination Chamber PPV RAW starts with a recap of Elimination Chamber PPV.
Music and pyro.
Video of HBK taking out Taker with sweet chin music in the Elimination Chamber.
There’s an electronic bull by the stage.
Justin announces Jericho. He comes out to the ring with a big smile and the strap over her shoulder. He screams that he’s going to WM. All he knows is he’s going to WM. Since he was unfairly attacked by Tyson a month ago he said he’d never be back to WM, but he’s back being the face of WWE. Last night he dominated the best on SD! And thwarted Taker. Not many men can say they took him out twice in a row. He’s the WHC! He’s celebrating and the Edge’s music hits. Edge to the ring and attacks Jericho with a spear. Jericho rolls out. Edge said Jericho’s going to WM against Edge! Edge leaves and Jericho outside the ring coughing and sputtering.
Now Cena stomps out to the ring looking pissed. He’s glowering as the fans chant. He talks about how after the Elimination Chamber he was Champion, he should be celebrating but he’s mad as hell and it’s because of Vince. Just after he won he had to face Batista. That’s how Vince wants to do business, fine! He was Champion and wants his rematch NOW! Vince comes out strutting and smiling. Vince says he’s all about business. He made a deal with Batista. He didn’t want to soil his hands with the broken down Hart. Batista and him struck a deal. Hart’s injured and humiliated. He told Batista he could have a championship match at any time. It’s all on Cena, not him. It’s not personal. Last week Cena told Batista to come get some. Batista got him some and became Champion. Cena said he’s taking the title back tonight. Vince says in his dreams as Batista’s not defending until WM. Cena’s not the only one with a return clause. Sheamus does too. Who deserves the rematch? “Cena” chants. Vince is making a business deal. He wins, he face Batista at WM. If Cena loses then Sheamus will have those honors. If Sheamus has that honor, then Cena will be backstage… Cena demands to know who he’s facing and screams at Vince, wanting to know who he’s facing. Vince says it’s Batista. Cena looks distraught.

Orton backstage. Cody says he expected Orton to use the pipe. Ted had been talking about beating Orton. But they’re supposed to be a team tonight? Orton says he knows what Cody is trying to say. If anyone’s at fault for last night, it’s Orton. He taught them too well. If he didn’t get his way he bullied them. He asked for this match and they’ve come way to far to fall apart now. Orton tells Cody to tell Ted that Orton’s sorry. Orton walks away leaving Cody looking shocked. Ted walks in. Ted says it went well. Cody says almost too well. Video from the Slammy’s. HBK and Taker won for Match of The Year. HBK accepted then said he wants more. Pieces from the match. Music and more of HBK’s emotional breakdown with not getting the chance to face Taker at WM. All down to HBK hitting sweet chin music and causing Taker the championship.
HBK comes out to the ring looking very much like a Cowboy in jeans, big belt buckle, work shirt with camo accents and a straw Cowboy hat, but not his DX hat. Off comes the hat. He says his explanation isn’t complicated. He did what he had to do, what he needed to do. What he did isn’t popular with a lot, but he had to. Taker might be there and understands that with every action there must be a reaction. He’s hoping for a reaction. Taker’s music and out he comes. Taker just stares at HBK in the ring. He said HBK wanted his attention, now he has it. HBK says last year, people said they had the greatest match in WM history, possibly the best match ever. As flattering as that is, he has to understand. He wrestled a nearly perfect match and one mistake cost him everything. Taker more than anybody should understand that. He begged for a rematch and Taker refused, ignored him, didn’t leave him any choice. That’s why he cost him the title. He knows Taker’s mad and can’t wait to get his hands on HBK. If Taker wants his revenge, face him at WM and get his revenge. Taker looks away. Then Taker looks back and says you’re on, I accept. HBK walks away and Taker says, on one condition. HBK walks back and stares. Taker says this year HBK has to put up something as well. His soul. This year when Taker beats him, HBK’s career is over. HBK stares. Taker says that’s it, the streak versus HBK’s career. HBK steps closer and says Taker doesn’t get it. If he can’t beat him at WM, he has no career! You’re on. GONG!

Still no Batista, or music. Finally Batista’s music hits. He’s all full of ego and slowly comes out to the ring without pyro (due to last night’s accident?). He gets to the stairs and adjusts his knee pads. The ref has to hold Cena back. Batista finally up on the apron and in. he holds the strap high and stares directly in Cena’s eyes.
