RAW Report 11/15/10 Hershey, PA

This weeks three hour ‘Old School’ RAW starts with the old WWF logo, then the crossed out the Federation and put in Entertainment. Then to the show. Cole and King standing there – both in historic announce gear, right down to the gold blazer with the red WWF on Cole! Cole introduced himself as VKM and King as Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura. Then they laughed and Cole introduced himself and King correctly. Cole says it will be ‘vintage’ RAW! King says his memories are in black and white, so why is Cole there. King goes on and says there’s a ton of legends there, most not looking a day older than dead! The siren going the whole time.

In the ring Justin – the screen text is even old school – with a bad blue tux, shag wig and announces Mean Gene Okerlund. He comes out to that odd old stage they used to have. He says tonight RAW goes Old School. He introduces the first HOFer – Cowboy Bob Orton. Orton out with his cast and hat on. He says Randy isn’t there, didn’t know they’re starting an hour early. Do you think he’ll walk out of SS Champion? Randy’s always done what he wants. He had to go to school because the teachers thought he’d beat them up. He said he didn’t care! He doesn’t care if Cena’s Special Guest Ref. He doesn’t care about Cena’s career. He doesn’t care if Wade gets an RKO. If Cena gets an RKO, then he takes Cena’s limp wrist and counts 1-2-3 on the mat! Randy will walk out of there –

They’re cut off by Wade who comes stomping out to where Mean Gene and Orton are. Heat for Wade. He calls Orton ‘old man’ and says his predictions are as phony as that cast. He’ll beat Randy and do something he couldn’t do, become the WWE Champion. They didn’t pave his way, he got here himself. He’ll be Champion on Sunday when Cena raises his hand. The reason he didn’t bring Nexus out there to beat down Orton is because Wade wants him to see Randy beaten down on Sunday. Same for Mean Gene. Mean Gene didn’t like that, but –

Miz out, Riley in tow. Riley in an old RAW Is War shirt. Miz says it’s just that simple? Last week when he told Randy that he’d be on his team, Randy didn’t thank him. He just stared him down with squinty Orton eyes, like those. That was a bad move. He sent a message right back to Randy and changed the landscape of the Ten Man Match, like cashing in the mitl. Maybe he’ll do it when Randy shows tonight. That would change things, wouldn’t it Wade. Then he wouldn’t be able to face Randy, then Cena would be in Nexus forever.

Cena calls to Miz from the tron. He stumbles over his words and says Miz has this weird gift of ruining everything he touches. Fascinating actually. Make sure he cashes in nothing tonight. At SS he’ll be free or fired. That stipulation will stand. He normally follows Wade’s orders, but will protect Wade. Trust him! He then challenges Miz to a match tonight. Of course Miz is looking at his assistant Riley. Miz, if you’re as awesome as you say you are, simply accept. Miz argues with Riley. Cena yells at him, asks if he accepts? Miz loudly accepts!

Mean Gene says there you have it. Tonight RAW is Old School! He then talks to Orton off mic a bit.

– Commercial

Dolph and Vickie out, Dolph in the corner of the screen talks about how they’re the power couple since Savage and Miss Elisabeth. Mark Henry as Sexual Chocolate out in his old ring gear, right down to his entrance music! Cole thinks it’s too much! Smith and Kidd walking along. Smith says his father and the Dynamite Kid didn’t always see eye to eye, but they always got it done in the ring. Tyson Kidd agreed that they’d go out there and do it tonight. They then walked up on Tony Atlas who says he knows they can work it out. He goes on and on about Rocky Johnson. On and on, on and on – he kept going, then spraying WD-40 on his arms, rubbing it in. He goes on talking about fried chicken, etc. Kidd and Smith walk off.

Gabriel and Slater in the ring, all laughter at Atlas. Kidd and Smith out to face them.

Mean Gene announces that he has Randy Orton as well as Cowboy. Does he think he’ll walk out of SS as Champion? R-Truth in and says last week Cena knew what he was doing counting Orton down. People like to think Cena has a choice. Free or fired. He will be free. Orton has a choice. He can let it happen or do something about it!

Randy says it seems as though everyone has it all figured out. Seems as though there’s one way to make sure this doesn’t happen at SS. That’s punt Cena in the head. Tonight. Randy walks off. R-Truth looks like he agrees.

– Commercial

Mean Gene pushing wweshop.com old school shirts and hoodies.

Justin announce the only ring announcer in the HOF. Finkel! Fink on mic and beautifully announces, with Harvey Wippleman, The Brooklyn Brawler! He comes out all torn up, Wippleman screaming at the camera. He asks what’s the matter with you people, don’t you respect old school? He expects a standing ovation coming out and when his match is over. Wlp then says Brawler challenges anyone from new school. Choida is wearing a horrible blond wig! Big Zeke comes out to face him. Brawler doesn’t like this idea.

Brooklyn Brawler w/ Harvey Wippleman Vs. Ezekiel Jackson

Brawler runs at Zeke and is pushed off. Splat on the mat! Zeke is all smiles. Brawler pushes Zeke, then tries to life him. Brawler sent into the ropes, then slams into Zeke’s chest. Brawler whipped, then clotheslined. Zeke slams Brawler to the mat for three.

Nexus backstage and Otunga says he stepped up. Now it’s time one of them do the same. R-Truth has become a real problem. Since he’s a leader there – Wade in and asked when he became the leader. Otunga says he’s a leader here. Wade says someone does need to take R-Truth out and that will be Otunga. Otunga agrees to it, they’ve had beef since NXT anyway.

Ding-Ding! Heat for Cole, of course! And I quote, “Barrett, David Otunga will not face R-Truth as Otunga will compete in a special match later on tonight. As for R-Truth, he will be in action against you Wade Barrett. What a better way to prove to everyone that despite who the ref is this Sunday, you are truly WWE championship material.”

Wade says the GM raises a very good point. Husky says they have his back. Wade thanks him and says that’s the loyalty he expects from Nexus. But no thanks. Everyone seems to think this all weighs on Cena, he’s going out there to prove he can beat anyone on the RAW roster on his own.

What do you want? Cena, over to the side, says he wanted to make sure Wade had a grasp on the meltdown and see if Wade wanted to thank him for taking care of Miz tonight? Wade says no thanks from him. Wade says Husky and McGillicutty need to follow Cena to the ring to make sure Randy doesn’t try anything. Cena told ‘Hasky’ to be easy and don’t move ‘MAGillicutty’, if Miz wants some, he can come get some.

– Commercial

Cena’s music and he heads to the ring. Out to the front row to give his cap to a little kid. Cena then spit shines Justin and Chiota’s wigs. Miz out to the ring, Riley in tow – bouncing. Video recap of Miz taking advantage of Randy last week in the main event. Miz says he always thinks he’s one step ahead of Miz, doesn’t he. If he takes Miz out now, then Miz can’t cash in tonight on Randy. One thing Cena forgets, the GM never sanctioned this match. So, if the GM doesn’t have a problem, he can make a substitution. Cole says he hasn’t heard anything. Miz says the GM must not mind. So taking his place in this match is Alex Riley. Cena wants to face him, doesn’t he? He’ll have to wait until WM when Miz is WWE Champion!

Cena Vs. Riley w/ Miz

They lock up and Cena sends Riley flying. Riley all pissed off at Cena pushing him around. Arm bar on Riley, then he was sent flying again. Cole talked about a mistake he made during Zeke’s match, saying it was 2011 (yes, I missed that, but mostly because I tune out anything Cole says, other thant he word ‘vintage’). Yes, he wants it to be the future, so maybe he can do this show himself! Test of strength, Riley slammed down again. Cena toying with him. They lock up, Riley backed into a corner, then whipped to the opposite corner. Riley gets an elbow up into Cena’s face. Behind the ref’s back, Miz on the apron and clotheslines Cena to the mat. Miz tends to Riley as Cena celebrates. Randy runs down to the ring. Cena watches Miz and Randy work each other. Husky and McGillicutty out and they’re through out. This leaves Randy and Cena in the ring. Off comes Randy’s shirt comes off, the women go wild! They stare off, but then a bunch of refs in old ring gear, and men in suits stumble into the ring, falling all over each other. “Let them fight!” chants.

Ding-Ding! Heat for the GM or Cole. And I quote, “It’s obvious that Cena and Orton have issues they have to work out prior to SS. Since this is Old School, I can’t think of a better forum than in this very ring, with a man who isn’t afraid to ask the tough questions. Cena, Orton both of you will be guests on Piper’s Pit!” Cena couldn’t hide the smile from his face, but I honestly can’t blame him.

Spilt screen – Cena and Randy heading for the ring.

– Commercial

Justin calls the legends out to the ring and they all come out to line up on the stage. Chavo Classic looks almost as out of it as Snuka as they come out. Justin announces each of them as he goes down the line.

Rowdy Roddy Piper out to the ring, kilt on, sporan all spiffed out. He looks older, but better than he looked last time we saw him. Very quickly he gets a “Roddy” chant. He’s ready to make history, old school. Old school isn’t a happy feely time. It’s about a time you had to man up, step up to the plate. When Captain Lou was getting an award and he didn’t like it? He smashed Lou in the face with a gold record! Snuka! When Snuka became a hit shot, Piper hit him in the head with a coconut. It was a time when you had a problem, you did something about it and that’s what he hopes to accomplish tonight! Give an old school welcome to a new school kid, John Cena! He holds it together to the ring, but is glowing. Cena wants to talk, Piper stops him. Shakes Cena’s hand, says Cena’s a big boy. He’s been a fan of Cena’s for a long time. Piper’s been competing over 30 years and he’s never been the WWE Champion. It does eat at him. Many others, DiBiase, Steamboat, Snuka, Mr. Perfect never, ever became the WWE Champion. If you’re gonna do what I think you’re gonna do and give that SOB Wade Barrett the WWE Championship without him deserving it. Then what you’re doing is spitting in the face of all those legends you say you respect. He’s asking, don’t you spit in my face Cena. You’ve been a man ever since you’ve come. You’ve been a man from the very first day you walked in. consequences be damned! Do the right thing. Do the right thing.

Cena says the right thing. For weeks he’s heard free or fired. At times he doesn’t know what the right thing is. It’s not that easy. From the moment he got here he’s been working as hard as he can, so that when guys like you look at where the WWE is today, they look at Cena and say that he could have hung with them. You have no idea the respect Cena has for Piper, King, all of the legends. Looking around on Old School night. He looked up to them all as a kid. They were his heroes. Cena says he’s been thinking that after all the work he’s done he hands over the Championship he’ll be free. Free from what? He won’t be the guy they look at and say he’s one of us! He’ll be the guy who gave Wade the Championship! All that work will be out the door! A fan yells, “Never give up!” Cena turns, points and says, “You’re damn right!” so, everybody wants to know his decision. If Orton wins, he earns it. If Wade wins, he earns it. He’s calling it down the middle.

Well said, well said Cena, bravo! Of course Wade comes out and gets into it. He says he agrees with Cena 100%, call it down the middle. He doesn’t need Cena’s help. He proved tonight he can beat anyone on the RAW roster without Cena’s help! Cena, those were magnificent words, but that’s the problem, they’re just words. They both know there’s a reality in place here. The reality is that if Wade’s hand isn’t raised, Cena’s finished, all over. Piper puts his hand over Wade’s mic and tells him to shut up. If Wade lets Cena give him the WWE Championship. Damn it look at me when I’m talking to you! Huge pop! At the end of the day you may have the Championship, but you won’t be no Champion. You’ll just be a joke. Cena’s smiling at Piper as if he’s in love. Wade asks Piper who he is to pass judgment on Wade? Piper wants to talk about a joke? One way or other, this is Cena’s final night on RAW as part of Nexus. It might be Cena’s final night on RAW. On Sunday he either sets Cena free or he fires him! Cena, if this is indeed your final RAW as part of Nexus, he wants to do something he should have done weeks ago. He’s disappointed in himself for waiting this long!

Wade pulls the Nexus shirt off his shoulder and holds it up. Wade tells Cena to put it on. Take that monstrosity you’re wearing off and put this on. If you don’t put it on, I’ll fire you on the spot. Cena’s hat went to the fans, then his shirt went out as Piper tries to grab it from Cena. Cena puts on the Nexus shirt as Wade smirks. Cena asks Wade if he’s happy and he hopes so. Wade’s his boss until Sunday. When that match is over, win or lose he turns Wade’s face into mush. Wade says Nexus might be banned from ringside, but the moment his hand is raised, they will be out to neutralize any threat from Cena. Face it Cena, he was Cena in his back pocket. He can make Cena history, like that.

Randy Orton’s music and out he comes. Orton grabs his mic and tells Cena, ever since Cena counted 1-2-3 on Orton last week, all he can think about is ending it all by kicking Cena in the skull and taking him out. Cena says they tried this earlier. He’s right here, what’s stopping him? Orton says nothing, except he’s thought of a better option. He could take Cena out, or – Orton attacks Wade. Wade rushes Orton, right into that really fast scoop slam. Orton pounds the mat, but Cena stood between them.

Cena kicks back at Wade slightly, then eats an RKO. Piper drops down and leaves the ring – smart man at his age! Orton lines up to punt Cena. Wade over to Orton and Orton sends Wade from the ring. Orton runs at Cena, but Cena moves before the punt. Cena gets Orton up and hits an AA. Orton rolls around holding his head as Cena holds his neck and seems to be totally pissed off. Wade back in all smiles. Wade tells Cena to raise his hand, now! Cena chants, led by Piper on mic. Cena gets Wade up, hits an AA on him. Off comes the Nexus shirt. Cena wipes his face in it, then he slams it down on Wade. On the ramp Piper raises Cena’s arm. Cena then poses on the stage.
