Weekend News & Notes
– Hulk Hogan made one of his first public appearances since the conclusion of Part 1 of the Gawker legal battle Saturday in the Pittsburgh area. Justin LaBar of Tribune Live was on-site reporting on the crowd that met with Hogan, including soundbytes from fans defending Hogan. Hogan was not made available for comment because of his ongoing legal battle with Gawker. (Video at TribLive.com)
– In the middle of their TNA TV feud, Matt & Jeff Hardy appeared together at a Northeast Wrestling Show in Hickory, N.C. on Saturday night. Matt was out-of-character as a normal-looking individual. Ric Flair, who was written out of WWE TV storylines two weeks ago, was the main attraction appearing with the Hardys. (Full Photo Gallery via the Hickory Record)
– Mick Foley was interviewed on Montana TV station KRTV promoting Big Time Wrestling’s weekend tour. Foley’s beard was at epic Playoffs Hockey levels for the TV interview. He noted he wrestled at an independent show in Montana in the 1980s to complete 49 of 50 U.S. states. The only missing state is Alaska. (TV Interview at KRTV.com)
– Scott Steiner attended a satellite football camp hosted by University of Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh. The camp was held in Atlanta, where Steiner has lived since joining WCW in the 1990s. Steiner was in the same college era as Harbaugh at UM, prompting a visit to his old college roommate.
