James Corden’s Office Secret Santa Goes Horribly Wrong
Participating in your office Secret Santa can be tough. You’re either buying a gift for your boss, your cubicle neighbor, or more likely, a co-worker you don’t know all that well. Plus there’s the whole budget issue. Finding a great gift for under $20 is not easy task—it can’t be too kitschy, but still has to be creative. (A gift card is definitely a cop out.)
James Corden demonstrated one of the ways an office Secret Santa can go totally wrong, specifically, when your employees don’t STICK TO THE BUDGET!
It all starts out fine and dandy, with Corden laughing way too hard at his own joke. “Let’s get started with the old Secret Santa—or as I like to call it, Confidentiality Clause.” Corden set the office gift limit at $15, telling his staff, “Christmas isn’t about expensive gifts … it’s about considering someone else on the team, considering their personality, and crafting something that they will love, because it came from there,” pointing to his chest. “From the heart.”

First up is staffer Phoebe who gifts a brand new Apple TV to her co-worker, and things only go downhill from there, as Corden gets more and more uncomfortable with his staff’s expensive gifts: a brand new X-Box, a first-edition copy of Charles Dickens’s The Christmas Carol, and even a brand-new car.
