“I give my honest opinion and honest advice. Sometimes he listens and sometimes he doesn’t, but I have my own voice and opinions, and it’s very important to me I express what I feel,” she continued. 

A reporter then asked her: “Have you ever told him to put his phone down?” She replied, “yes,” with a laugh.

As a followup question, a journalist asked if she was trying to “scare” the president into being more polite, and Trump responded: “No, I tell him my opinions, what I believe, and in some of them maybe we don’t agree.”

“I’m not elected, he’s the president,” she added. 

As the first lady, Melania has developed a program that hopes to put an end to cyber-bullying, despite the vicious tweets her husband posts on what seems to be a daily basis. She has received much criticism for the “hypocritical” endeavor. Maybe next time, she should try to physically hide his phone.
